Here are five of my top tips for making the most of your voice:


1. Warm up
Wake up your facial and shoulder muscles before you start speaking.

2. Know what you are about to say
Rehearse your text aloud, and mark or rewrite as necessary.

3. Breathe
Keep good posture, and breathe from your diaphragm.

4. Talk to the listener
Sell the message of your words and consider the listener's likely response.

5. Protect your voice
Don’t smoke, shout or drink tea, coffee or milk. Do exercise and drink plenty of water.
